Museum of Arcade Games

The Musee Mecanique in San Francisco houses a remarkable collection of antique coin-operated mechanical musical instruments and arcade games. A century or more ago, these items could be found throughout the city, in places ranging from ice cream parlors to hotels. The museum’s owner restores the machines and offers the public a glimpse into their historical significance. Listen to hear about some of the objects in this unusual collection, and learn what sparked the owner’s interest in collecting them.
